Project no.3

Oh Ke. So here is 'the massive' sketchbook project. I made the book with fabric and card and sewed in the pages and just drew in it. I mostly drew people i know without heads but i'm not sure why, and then i got a bit carried away and put anything in there. It's not the best but at least i've whacked another one out of the way. I'm so lazy. Actually i'm not, i'm just working full time at Tesco and it's killing me.

Project no.2

So this is the second thing i've made to send off to my tutor and it's so basic and small but i'm planning on making quite a big one for the third, something like a WHOLE sketchbook....of about 10 pages?
The little bear brooch is just drawn onto fabric and padded. I used a paper bag for the envelope because i went crazy a few months ago and bought about £40 worth of these striped paper bags in different colours and sizes. I thought they'd come in handy if i ever live my dream of owning some sort of shop or making some sort of zine thing and i can put it in one of these. I seriously have thousands.

shoes.

I collect everything and i feel like taking pictures of everything i collect. Shoes is obviously one of the things i collect. I hope so any way, otherwise i might have a shoe fetish?

Nanny Flag

This is a little flag thing that i've made to send to my tutor for our summer brief. I've been really bad and only made this so far and still have another 5 things to make! But i'm going to churn them all out now over the remainder of July and the whole of August so i'm not that bad am i? Or am i? I duno.
The flags are made from different patterned fabrics and are double sided, it's not neatly made but i wanted it to have a rough-ish look. Just got to think of how to package it now.

My Tidy & Organised Room (for a change)

Here are some photos of my clean and organised room. I can guarantee that this time tomorrow, there'll be clothes chucked on the floor, aswell as a big bottle of empty vodka and god knows what else. I'm not an alcoholic, i'm going out.

Typography Pattern Piece

For my typography brief at uni i had to record a conversation and then illustrate it using only type. I choose to illustrate a phone conversation i had with my nan about her fixing a top for me and used a pattern piece as the medium to work on. I was careful to follow the brief and didn't illustrate a single part of the conversation itself, yet i got away with copying what the illustrations look like in an actual pattern piece. I hand rendered all of the type and tried to reflect how me and my nan were talking. My nan doesn't know that i did this.

Gemma Travis's Book About Drawing

I made this little book out of a tea towel i got from a chazza (charity shop) for my life drawing brief which was to make a book about drawing. I must admit it was very rushed and i didn't spend half as much time as i would have liked to on it, so to sum up - i like the book itself, just not what's inside.

Just some work

These are just some odd pieces of work that i've never posted. The shelves is an illustration representing the equals sign; this was a very strange brief but i choose shelves...
And that's a little pug. Ooooooo!
