3/5 of C O N F E T T I CROWD - Snoochie Shy

And here is number 3 from the Confetti Crowd - the gorgeous Cheyenne aka Snoochie Shy.

I had a real hard time deciding what photo to draw from as Shy is so photogenic! I can't deny, I very much enjoyed looking at every single outfit post, selfie and DJ pap shot especially when she offsets her amazing pink mane with an equally amazing pink ensemble.

Hopefully my collage does her justice. Now to draw the two other little stunners!

I B I Z A

Ibiza is one of my most favourite places in the world...granted I haven't yet been everywhere, but I know I will always want to come back here year after year. The Ibiza blues has lasted me well into autumn and I'm just about ready to reflect on my time there.

I stayed in the most amazing, sassiest hotel EVER Tropicana Ibiza Suites, I couldn't recommend it enough! It's pink, flamingo-ey, very art deco and made my hangovers an actual pleasure. The staff were incredible, so lovely and genuinely interested in what we were up to. The location is right by the hippy market in Playa Den Bossa and a stones throw from Bora Bora beach, Ushuaia, Space and all of the bars.

The music as ever was phenomenal, Bon Sinclar at Pacha and Deorro at House of Madness, Amnesia were my highlights. DC10 was also another fave, witnessing Jamie Jones 'Paradise', partying until the early morning. Dinner and drinks at the sultry Blue Marlin was also a first but not a last! Ahhh I could go on - every day and night was amazing!

You can literally be yourself, wear what you truly want to and eat maxibon's all day every day! Here are some of my fav pics and outfits from Ibiza 2015...hopefully see you next year!

2/5 of C O N F E T T I CROWD - Lulutrixabelle

So here is no.2 out of the 5 sass pots that make up Confetti Crowd, the beaut that is Lucy Rance aka Lulutrixabelle.

Before I decide on which photo to recreate, I practically stalk through all of the girls Instagram's and blogs (not that I need an excuse, I do this anyways). This photo of Lucy really got my collage brain going as I love the neon colour in her hair and her luscious Lime Crime blue lips.

I think I'll make another collage of Lucy as I didn't realise but another talented illustrator has already made a replica of this pic, but just goes to show how inspiring she is!

3 more of the darlings to draw next...

DI$COUNT UNIVER$E

I can't remember what I saw that threw me towards Discount's website, I must have seen it flash up on Instagram or it could have been when Katy Perry wore the pastel blue sequinned pussy cat co-ord to some event...either way I am SO glad I did.

I knew which pieces I lusted over but I had to whittle them down to 2 items to align with my already tight budget, so these are the ones I went for. Considering they are created and shipped from Australia, they were in my wardrobe literally within a week. The quality is outstanding and the dense sequins are packed in tight, heavily. I wore these dresses jammed in the middle of Ibiza's music lovers in some of the biggest and wildest clubs, with minimal sequin loss!

So indeed, where better to wear them than...IBIZA! One of my favourite places in the world! I'm going to need to create a post based on my 10 days there this summer, as I need to plaster my pics of this amazing hotel EVERYWHERE! But for now, my lovely, lovely DI$COUNT UNIVER$E pieces.

1/5 of C O N F E T T I CROWD - Helibells

For a while now I've been trying very hard to find some inspiration to start drawing again. Some times I feel like I have so many ideas in my head that I can never commit to one without wishing I'd started the other if that makes sense...?

Anyways, like probably almost EVERYONE, I've been following the girls who make up the sassy Spice Girl-esque blogger band 'Confetti Crowd' for a good few years now on every inch of social media, and they never fail to inspire or ignite the creative in me; whether it's with what I wear or a little doodle here and there. Thus being said, I have now committed myself to illustrating some portraits of the girls, trying to bring a little bit of their individual style out in each one, hopefully fuelling a creative project for myself in the background.

So, here is Helena a.k.a the beautiful HELIBELLS - how could you not be inspired by her???

ebay Wonders

Recently my spending habits have been a little cray...ok REALLY cray. So as it goes I need to clear some serious wardrobe space and part with some buys which I have worn enough to my satisfaction and can replace with a new find without feeling too upset.

Here are some previews of my great bargains ending Sunday evening...goodbye my friends!

Search: gemmat17 and be sure to add my to your favourites as I sell often. Or have a little click here

Rosanna Pink Onions

A couple of weeks ago, supplier Rosanna Onions came to Tesco HQ to sample their pretty pink onions. Now, I'm not ashamed to admit this...but I love an onion! Red, white, spring, bhaji, anything but pickled. I don't care if my breath stinks, I don't care if my lunch stinks - I love the onion! Needless to say I was excited to try these pink onions as I was a fan of the aesthetics and the taste.

I didn't want to make some crazy soup or tart, so I went for baked wholemeal onion rings and guacamole using the Rosanna onions in both dishes. Bloody tasty and my own recipes.

These onions are sold exclusively at Tesco and 2p from every pack sold will be donated to Cancer Research UK, so not only can you cook with a pretty pink onion, but you can help beat cancer at the same time. Win - win!

Ingredients
Snacking heaven!
Oven baked, wholemeal onion rings
Guacamole

Thought I'd post the recipe for my super healthy snacks...

Onion Rings
Ingredients:
1 large onion (Rosanna Pink Onion preferably)
2 slices of wholemeal bread (can be any bread you like)
2 eggs
1 tsp paprika
pinch of salt and pepper
fresh coriander to garnish

Method:
- preheat the oven to 200 degrees/Gas mark 5/6
- blend 2 slices of bread in a blender until breadcrumb consistancy
- add the paprika and salt and pepper to the breadcrumbs in a bowl, mix in well
- in a separate bowl, beat 2 eggs until slightly frothy, you need to aim for a sticky texture
- peel and cut the onion into different thickness rings from 1cm - 2cm thick, it doesn't have to be perfect, the odd sizes make them look better!
- pop the rings out to form different sizes
- dip each ring into the sticky egg mixture, coating well
- then dip into the breadcrumb mixture, also coating well
- place on a large baking tray and repeat until the tray is full
- place in the oven and cook until crispy and golden for around 15-20 minutes
- eat them and feel happy about your life

Guacamole
Ingredients:
2 ripe, soft avocados
15 or so cherry or baby plum tomatoes
1 fresh red chilli
fresh coriander
salt and pepper
1 lime
Half an onion (optional)

Method:
- chop the tomatoes into small pieces and place in a bowl (I tend to cut in half, half them again, and then again)
- finely chop the chilli into very fine, small pieces (a quarter of the chilli for a kick, half for some hot, hot heat. Judge yourself on how large the chilli is, sometimes its best to add in a small amount and top up at the end if you want more spice)
- add to the bowl and mix in well with the tomatoes
- cut each avocado in half, cutting around the stone in the middle and discarding
- with a spoon scrape out all of that amazingness, breaking into chunks as you add to the bowl
- mix in well with a fork with the tomatoes and chilli until you have what resembles a chunky guacamole
- dice the onion half and add to the mixture
- cut a handful of coriander and chop finely, add this to the bowl
- add a pinch of salt and pepper to the mixture
- then squeeze one half of the lime into the bowl and mix well
- dip one of those bad boy onions ring into the guaca and spend the rest of your day happy!

Dogs are better than humans..

While I was in Berlin I bought one of the best sketch books I have ever seen/smelt - always important to smell a fresh book right? A pricey €27 from the amazing hay.dk but sweet Jesus how it was worth it! Different textures of paper, different colours and all sorts of grids and lines!

Here are the pages from the christening of said book.

Berlin

I've just returned from a 4 day trip to Berlin with my Boyfriend, another fabulous Birthday present!

I last visited Berlin when I was 14 and had some distant memories of the city and what I'd saw and learnt. Well a lot has changed in 12 years that's for sure! Berlin was remarkably quiet for a Capital, cheap yet still as historic and interesting as the first time around.

We crammed in quite a lot during our trip - a free walking tour, covering Brandenburg Gate, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Hitler's Bunker, Checkpoint Charlie, then on to Museum Island, Kreuzberg, DDR Museum, Topography of Terror and The East side Gallery. Here are some of my favourite photos from the trip - definitely got my creative juices flowing.

Oh and two restaurants I would recommend: Hans Im Glück a burger bar and DUDU a sushi restaurant, pics below!
