Favourite Co-ords

And now for some of my favourtie co-ords.

I can't get enough of them and even better for me they're cropping up almost everywhere! From River Island to Beyond Retro and back to Missguided, there are so many takes on the co-ord with 'shuits' (shorts and blazer) 'skuits' (skirt and blazer) and your straight up trouser suit. I've also purchased a matching top and shorts co ord to wear at one of my upcoming festivals - can't wait until it comes!

2012 - you were here

So it is quite shameful that I only posted ONE whole post in the year of 2012 and to make things worse it was at the end of the year - because of this I would like to reminisce about some of the things I did, wore and bought last year so I can really start this again right!

Some work drawings

I've been asked at work to draw some portraits of a team so they can put them up on a sort of 'who's who2' board. I was asked for a real life version as well as some cartoony drawings so I went for a pencil sketch and collage. I'm being paid in chocolate so I can't complain!

The first man to volunteer was this gentleman! More to follow...

N E W...an idea and promise

So as if you couldn't tell, I've been away for over a year. I worked so hard last year (2011) and it really has taken this amount of time for me to switch off. But...2013 will see a New Years resolution and a promise. Ideas are brewing...

It's a good job I had time to kill to look through most of NASTY GAL's blog, as I came across two of my images featured among their posts. They're sadly not credited but it was a nice feeling to see them on there :)

FLICKR UPDATE

I've finally gotten around to paying for another year's use of flickr's pro account and have therefore uploaded some nice pictures i've taken with my iPhone - mainly of my room or dinner's i've made...and the dog.

MY WEBSITE HAS GONE LIVE!

I've finally gotten around to setting my websites URL, www.gemmatravis.co.uk is now live! I have a few more ideas and work to add to it but it's getting there...so make sure you have a look.

✿HELLO✿

I don't know where to begin! I've had a very busy month...

• So firstly I was very lucky to exhibit work at D&AD New Blood AND New Designers, to which I received some great feedback and opportunities from.
• I graduated with a 2:1 in BA Hons Illustration, which I am completely over the moon about.
• I've been working on and setting up my own website which will be finished and going online hopefully this week - I've uploaded a little sneak preview.
• And I am now part of a collective which I will go into detail about in another post, when I have a chance to upload some work...

It feels weird knowing that I wont be going back to Uni this year, it's sort of just hit me and sunk in.

This week I have been so busy at the Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, London, with my Degree Show. Here's a photo of my space which I'm really pleased with and proud of. The exhibition runs until Monday 6th June, featuring a lots of really talented Illustrators, Graphic Designers, Photographers and so much more, so if you're around in the London area go and have a look because the work is UNREAL.

These are my new and improved Selfridges posters. After looking at my old ones with my Tutor (and her ripping them to shreds!) she asked me to apply my collage style of working to them instead of using a digital approach. So these are two different layouts for each...

These are some images in response to another of my sister's poems. With this poem, my sister chose clippings and headlines from a newspaper to make a poem reflecting a sort of binge culture British family...These will eventually be placed among text for the final view of the poem.
